Drifts 2024

Drifts is a nomadic art platform that organises transcultural festivals annually in different regions of Helsinki.

Drifts seeks to engage with critical dialogues and address urgent societal issues through audiovisual, performative, and discursive practices. It fosters a space beyond cultural, geographical, and disciplinary boundaries and contributes to cultural plurality by engaging with diverse neighbourhoods and communities in the city.

This year's theme, Precarious Lives, focuses on the vulnerability of life in the face of violence and hatred that cross borders.

The festival collaborates with 44 local and international art practitioners, presenting public programs: audiovisual performances, film screenings, lectures, and exhibitions.
