Bench Workshop

Bench workshop

The Architecture and Design Museum's Architecture Outside the Box working group invites citizens to a bench workshop where participants can assemble furniture for public spaces from ready-made parts.

Is your community missing a bench? Are you tired of having nowhere to sit outdoors?

The bench workshop is a safe and fun event where we build and paint benches together. You will get help from the Architecture Outside the Box working group.

We will provide a couple of model benches of which you can choose the one you would you like to build for your community. You will find all the needed tools and materials at the workshop.

At the end of the workshop, participants will take their benches to public spaces that they find important. This way we will create places where people can get together and rest in the city. Through the workshop, the working group aims to make a comment on who is allowed to use public spaces.

The workshop is open on Saturday 26 Oct. from 10–16 and on Sunday 27 Oct. from 12–18 (during Stoa's opening hours).
