The new season of Architecture Speaks lecture series is launched
In November, the Architecture Speaks lecture series continues with new inspirational speakers. The new season looks at themes related to sustainable development and how architecture can contribute to building a more sustainable society. The series is organised by Aalto University Department of Architecture and the Museum of Finnish Architecture together with Archinfo Finland.
As with the previous years' Architecture Speaks lectures, the line-up of speakers represents a variety of different perspectives on the architecture and design practice, with an aim to enhance discussion about architecture, both as an art form and a means of shaping society.
“I feel that there is a distinct lack of engaged, lively discourse on the topic of architecture in Finland at the moment," says Jenni Reuter, curator of the lecture series. "The purpose of this lecture series is to inspire discussion about architecture on a broader, more in-depth level than we do today. The lectures offer time to pause and analyse what we are doing and why, and moreover, what it says about our era."
