OOPEAA's Suvela Chapel starts on site

The Espoo Lutheran Church has announced that work on the new chapel in Suvela, Espoo will start this spring. The chapel is designed by OOPEAA Office for Peripheral Architecture and it is planned to open in 2016. The multi-purpose building has a gross floor area of 2.500 m² and it will serve more than 20.000 inhabitants in the area and nearby districts. Architect Anssi Lassila (b. 1973) and the OOPEAA office have gained international recognition for their innovatory church architecture e.g. in Kärsämäki (2004), Klaukkala (2004) and Kuokkala (2010).
