City Agents: Environmental Art in the Spirit of the Location
In the Environmental Art in the Spirit of the Location workshop, the students first explored, under guidance, various urban places in their hometown, taking photographs and making interpretations based on the photos. The aim was to find a thought-provoking urban space for which they would like to design an artwork in a way that utilises the existing elements and the spirit of the location. The works were designed and prepared in a museum's workshop and presented to others once in place. The works made of natural materials were left in the chosen place for two weeks. It was interesting to see how the changing weather and passing of time added a new dimension to the works. The students felt that they became more familiar with their hometown and especially certain locations.
