JKMM's designs for the new Amos Anderson Art Museum premises revealed

The distinguished Finnish art institution, The Amos Anderson Art Museum, has published the plans for its new premises designed by JKMM Architects. The new museum venues will be located in and below the gem of Finnish functionalism, the Lasipalatsi building (1936) in the heart of Helsinki.The exhibition spaces have been placed underneath the existing Lasipalatsi square which will be decorated with new, curved skylight domes. The main entrance and the museum lobby will be situated in the Lasipalatsi building making use of the renowned Bio Rex cinema and the existing cafes, restaurants, shops and office premises.For further information, the museum has produced a 6-page pdf leaflet in English that explains the architectural concept of the new venue: amosanderson.fi/app/uploads/2014/07/museum_architecture1.pdf.
