The Open Call for proposals for Finland’s exhibition at the 17th International Architecture Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia in 2020 closes on 8 August 2019 at midnight (GMT +2). The theme for the main exhibition, selected by curator Hashim Sarkis, is "How will we live together?".

Archinfo Finland is looking for exhibition proposals for the Pavilion of Finland at Biennale Architettura. The selected proposal will be exhibited in the Alvar Aalto -designed pavilion in the Giardini Biennale Park from 23 May to 29 November 2020. In 2020, Archinfo Finland will be responsible for Finland's exhibition in Venice for the second time.

Of the exhibition proposals submitted by 8 August, up to six will be invited for further development in Stage 2, which closes on 10 September 2019. With the exhibition, we seek to address and communicate about architecture's importance in shaping our cultures and societies. We are looking forward to a wide range of exhibition proposals that stem from topical issues relevant to Finnish architecture while responding with a wide international audience and the global architecture community. Submissions are accepted both by individuals and cross-disciplinary teams which must include at least one member based in Finland or with Finnish nationality.

The exhibition will be chosen by a Selection Panel including Beatrice Galilee, Independent Curator based in New York, Anniina Koivu, Writer, Curator and Educator based in Milan and Lausanne, Tuomas Siitonen, Architect, Graphic Designer and Exhibition Designer based in Helsinki, Ilkka Suppanen, Architect and Designer based in Milan and Helsinki, and Hanna Harris, Commissioner, Director of Archinfo Finland and Chair of the Panel.
