B&M's Al Jufrah administration centre at La Triennale di Milano Africa exhibition

Triennale di Milano hosts until 28th December 2014 a special exhibition titled Africa: Big Changes Big Chances curated by Italian architect and scholar Benno Albrecht. The presentation focuses on urban architecture, rapid urbanisation and territorial changes taking place in many African countries.One of the projects showcased is the master plan and multipurpose complex designed by architects Jussi Murole and Daniel Bruun from B&M Architects in Al Jufrah, the city of Hun in Libya. The buildings were fully completed in 2002 and the project was shortlisted for the Aga Khan Award for Architecture in 2004. According to the architects, the design aims at presenting an innovative interpretation of the Libyan heritage and its Islamic architecture, exploiting new and meaningful forms of expression in a way that could serve as a model for future buildings in the region."Africa: Big Changes Big Chances" is on display at Triennale di Milano until 28th December 2014.
