The second Nordic co-design event will be held under the theme Sustainable aesthetics in the built environment. Bring your ideas, views and examples of beautiful Nordic environments and participate in inspirational collaboration. The outcome of the workshops will be communicated to the European Commission for developing the New European Bauhaus.

The co-design workshops will be kicked off by two interesting keynote speeches. PhD Sanna Lehtinen is a Research Fellow at Aalto University. Her professional interests include urban, environmental and everyday aesthetics, philosophy of technology, and contemporary forms of environmental and urban art. Peter Hagdahl is a curator at Sweden’s Public Art Agency Statens Konstråd. Since the early 1990’s he has been one of Sweden’s most acclaimed artists working with new media.

After the co-design workshops, the discussion continues with a panel of experts and professionals from all the Nordic countries.

The New European Bauhaus is a creative initiative that aims to combine sustainability, inclusion and aesthetics. It is an environmental, economic and cultural project instigated by the European Commission.

The event is organized by Finnish Ministry of the Environment, Finnish Ministry of Education and Culture, Swedish National Board of Housing, Building and Planning Boverket, Swedish Council for Sustainable Cities, Sweden’s Innovation Agency Vinnova and Archinfo Finland in cooperation with Nordic Council of Ministers, Design and Architecture Norway, Danish Design Centre and Iceland Design and Architecture.
