The special issue of journal Ehituskunst focuses on the legacy of the deceased architect and lecturer Jan Verwijnen (1949–2005) in interpreting urban space. The authors of the publication and former colleagues exchange views on the development of urban planning, architectural thought and education, and Jan Verwijnen’s contribution to it.
The speakers include the editors of the issue, Professor Panu Lehtovuori (Tampere University) and Professor Klaske Havik (TU Delft), Editor-in-Chief Eik Hermann (Ehituskunst), Professor Toni Kauppila (Oslo National Academy of the Arts), Professor Verena von Beckerath (Bauhaus-University, Weimar), architect Pia Ilonen (Helsinki), architects Steve McAdam & Christina Norton (London) and Professor Maros Krivy (Estonian Academy of Arts).
