One of the oldest design magazines in the world, Swedish Form, features K2S Architects in its 5/2014 issue. Form’s managing editor Salka Hallström Bornold has interviewed the Finnish trio Mikko Summanen, Kimmo Lintula and Niko Sirola and she writes enthusiastically about their energetic, noncomformist office in Helsinki.
K2S prefers not to be in the public eye, but their architecture certainly is.
— Salka Hallström Bornold, “Mikko, Niko & Kimmo” in Form 5/2014, p. 93.
The article in Form 5/2014 is an abridged version of Hallström Bornold’s interview “In Architecture Every Song Must Count” published in the recent monograph K2S: Beyond the Wall of Sound (Arvinius + Orfeus Publishing 2014). The book presents K2S’s design philosophy and major works which have been backgrounded with essays by Toyo Ito, Hans Ibelings and Juhani Pallasmaa. In Finland, K2S Architects have been acknowledged for instance in the latest Finnish Architecture Biennial Review.
