Architects from Ghent, Genova and Barcelona will take the stage in January and February.

Architecture Speaks! is a lecture series produced by Aalto University and the Museum of Finnish Architecture, bringing a number of interesting international speakers to Finland. The spring 2019 lectures begin with architects Jan De Vylder, Inge Vinck and Jo Taillieu, who founded the office Vylder Vinck Taillieu in Ghent in 2009. DVVT highlights critical consciousness and social responsibility in a creative process closely integrating architectural design and practical execution.

“The role played by architects is undergoing critical reassessment in Belgium, where we are seeing the emergence of entirely new practices and types of architecture,” notes the curator of the lecture series, Professor Jenni Reuter. “De Vylder Vinck Tailleu represents the vanguard of this new wave in Belgian architecture.”

The lectures are held in English at Aalto University at 13:15 and at the Museum of Finnish Architecture at 18:00. Entrance fee to the museum 10 / 5 / 0 €.
