The ANTI Contemporary Art Festival celebrates its 13th festival autumn in Kuopio, Finland. This year, the focus is on children and teenagers, both as an artistic theme and as active participants in the production. The international art festival presenting live, sonic, visual and text-based art is recognised for site-specific works made for public space.
The abundant festival programme in 2014 has been topped with the viewpoint of architecture and landscape architecture. The My Kuopio workshops invites children and youth to re-design Kuopio parks and to reimagine the city. The workshops study two key areas of Kuopio: the lakeside Sammakkolampi area (Wednesday’s workshop) and the Väinölänniemi beach (Thursday’s workshop). The propositions will be saved and donated to Kuopio Urban Environment Services.
The workshops take place on Wednesday 24 September 2014 at 8–15 at the Rajala School (Sammakkolammentie 14) and on Thursday 25 September 2014 at 9–15 at Kuopio Academy of Design (Piispankatu 8).
The My Kuopio workshops are produced in collaboration with Lastu School of Architecture and Environmental Culture and Kuopio Urban Environment Services.
Based in Lapinlahti, Northern Savo, Lastu School of Architecture and Environmental Culture was founded in 1993. Lastu supports and develops architectural and environmental culture and promotes the appreciation, understanding and value of old and newly built cultural heritage sites.
